NRT 140/4 (2018) p. 572-589
Might faith be a certitude which implies the suspension (épokhê) of all rational activity or existential searching? Starting from Edith Stein's phenomenological reduction, the author examines the rational foundation of religious faith. Differently from Husserl, the phenomenological épokhê is a provisional posture in Stein. Mysticism, which implies the darkness of the night in the experience of God, constitutes the ultimate épokhê.
