In his immense theological work, John Calvin confronted himself twice with the « Dry Bones Prophecy » (Ezek. 37:1-14). In his Sermons delivered in 1554, he offered a moral application, which consists in the rising of the Church within history. In the Institutes prevails the eschatological interpretation: Ezekiel spoke about the final resurrection. This article analyses such interpretations with a critical evaluation.
