L'Église, communauté de mémoire

NRT 141/1 (2019) p. 22-35
The fourth gospel allows us to look at the Church as a community of memory. The author picks out several elements from the believing memory in the Johannine text before laying out two tools for analysis (theories of Social Memory and the reflections of Joseph Ratzinger on tradition) in order to understand how the act of memory is revealed as tradition, constitutive of the ecclesial community.
Keywords : John's gospel | Believing community | Social memory | Joseph Ratzinger | Tradition
