A few years ago. You could say that among contemporary philosophers, Michel Foucault, was one of the most commented on, in Europe and especially in America. With the publication of the last volume of his History of Sexuality, a new cycle of reception of the work of the philosopher can now begin. For a long time the interpretation of his work was mixed up with its libertarian attraction. From now on this is going to run into difficulty: Les Aveux de la chair presupposes, for a correct evaluation, an extensive knowledge of patrology, which is far from being within the reach of everyone…
