Le consensus différencié sur la doctrine de la Justification (Augsbourg 1999). Quelques remarques sur la nouveauté d'une méthode
Hervé Legrand opThe main methodological innovation of the Augsburg Declaration lies in the aknowledgment that the unity of faith can be expressed in different languages and in various theological forms (Denkform), with particular stresses. From the Catholic viewpoint, this «distanciation» from an often too stilted approach of the thruths of faith finds its justification in a number of traditional precedents, in the hermeneutics expressed in Vatican II at the suggestion of John XXIII, and in the actual entry in the Ecumenical Movement as confirmed by John Paul II. This historic opening pairs up with a more systemic logic in theology and a more eschatological sens of faith, which will make the unity of Christians easier. This might foster the search for a consensus in our societies as well.
