The Pauline notion of reconciliation, reviewed in the light of our pastoral experience in today's socio-cultural context, allows the Church new theological and pastoral possibilities. The A. shows how the theology of reconciliation is relevant in today's world: in proclaiming salvation in a culture of communication, in rethinking the universal mediation of Christ at the time of inter-religious dialogue, in incarnating the prime mission of the Church as «sacrament of the unity of humankind» (L.G., l).
