Historian, artist, theologian, Father Engelbert Mveng was passionately fond both of Africa and on the Bible. He thought that a truly African christianity ought to be built on an African reading of the Bible. The African Christian must welcome the Word of God as a heritage called to bear fruit. Moreover, in an Africa faced with various forces of oppression and death, God's Word is life, liberation, creativity.
