The Beijing Conference has considered with serious attention a number of proposals which aim at expanding the leading role of women in society. Empowerment is no mere slogan… yet, feminist ideologies on the one hand and liberal world policy on the other tend to jeopardize women's achievements. In the role that it has played at every step of the Conference and of its proceedings, the Holy See has consistently referred to woman as to a concrete person, conscious of the dignity which she has received from the Creator. As a follow up to the matters concerning them and to promote the education in general, especially the education of young girls.
