The author first sketches the evolution of the way the Church has discerned holiness throughout the centuries. He then underlines the more prominent features of the new norms to be observed in the processes of canonization. This excellent reform could be easily and soon completed: it would allow the Church to « make its saints » in a way that could be of real benefit in the coming century.
