Are Mary's Immaculate Conception and Assumption truly absent from the Bible? The answer depends on the way we read the Scriptures. The A. proposes a reading of the twelfth chapter of the Book of Revelation which shows that, in the internal logic of the text, the symbol of the Woman cannot be fully interpreted if no account is taken of the connection between Mary and the Church in the «new humankind of which Mary is the first historical member who gives birth to its leader, Jesus Christ.
