The spiritual intuition which Ignatius experienced in Manresa opened his eyes to the reality of a world created and saved through the action of the triune God, whose universal love enlivens the whole of human history. Ignatius succeeded in expressing this global intuition in a personal relationship with the Father, the source of all love, and in an original imitation of the Son, the Saviour who, taking flesh in order to free humankind, lived a life of humility and self-giving, sharing in and renewing all the efforts of men and women who strive to grow in humanity and in grace.
