Beyond his media image, the thought of Joseph Ratzinger-Benedict XVI continues to exert a considerable influence on contemporary theology. Whether it be the hermeneutics of Vatican II, inter-religious dialogue or the spirit of the liturgy, the theological legacy of Benedict XVI remains a point of reference for the Church in the 21st century.
This issue of NRT, produced by teachers at Collège des Bernardins, explores the intellectual fruitfulness of this great "co-operator of Truth".
The first part contains several articles analysing Benedict XVI's significant contribution to the various theological disciplines (liturgy, Eucharist, Sacred Scripture, patristics, ecclesiology, morality and preaching). Faithful to Vatican II, the second part deals with the dialogue between the Catholic faith and the contemporary world (reason, culture and non-Christian religions). The preface is by Cardinal Luis Ladaria Ferrer, Prefect Emeritus of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.
