Interpreting a Council. Entering into the liturgical enunciation of the faith

Considering the conciliar event as a liturgical event allows us to understand in the most unified possible way, the content, method and form of the teachings of Vatican II. It is a matter of discovering, in liturgical terms, the Church in the act of writing the tradition in order to apprehend the interpretation of the Council as an act of the Church entering into the liturgical enunciation of her own faith. Then the attempt is made to consider this liturgical act of the writing of the tradition as a model of every theological act.

Pour connaître ce qu’enseigne le concile Vatican ii, il faut commencer par le lire. Cette assertion est pour le moins basique, et son sens ne nous échappe pas. Pourtant, un concile, à proprement parler, se lit-il ? Que sont les textes finaux d’un concile par rapport à l’ensemble de ce qu’est un concile ? A-t-on sérieusement étudié le concile lorsque l’on n’a fait « que » lire les documents qui en sont issus ?

Dans la mesure où un concile est une assemblée qui a pour objectif la production d’un texte, il est bien évident que l’on oscillera, dans la compréhension même du concile, entre l’événement lui-même et le texte, qui en est le résultat.
